If you've had a baby or been in the delivery room when a baby was born chances are you've seen nurses work quickly after an infant is delivered to do a series of tests which score the baby's condition. This is called the Apgar score, named after Virginia Apgar. Virginia, or "Ginny" to her close friends, dedicated her life to work 🏨and research🔬📚 that helped improve infant mortality. She was one of Columbia University's first female M.D.s. She's received many awards for her hard work including Woman of the Year in Science by Ladies Home Journal. 👏 She's a woman worth knowing and that's why we've named this adorable baby outfit after her.
