Sophie Scholl

Sophie Scholl

It's hard to watch or read any form of media without seeing mention of the student led #neveragain movement. Which is why we're introducing you to Sophie Scholl. Sophie was one of the first student activists. She and her brother Hans grew up in Germany during Hitler's Nazi reign and although they were required to participate in the Hitler Youth Program at young ages they eventually saw through the political nonsense and started a secret resistance called "The White Rose". This small group wrote pamphlets calling all to resist the Nazi Party and stop the war. They would secretly distribute them throughout towns and universities. Sadly one night they were discovered distributing their manifestos by the Gestapo but their small voices influenced many and no doubt stifled Nazi efforts. Sophie's brave acts and voice of reason in such a repressive time make her a true heroine and model for females of all ages.
