Meet Fatima

Fatima

I'd like to introduce you to another face behind our lovely, hand-sewn aprons. This is Fatima. She's been here for about a year from Syria, with her family. Some of her interests are going for walks, visiting with friends and being involved with the AMWA. When asked what's something someone who doesn't speak her native language can do for her? She answered, "support us with your presence and smiles. Socialize with us. It helps us improve our language learning skills." One of the things she's come to love about the US are the welcoming people, and accessible medical and academic help for her teenagers. Her biggest desire is to buy a house and travel the US with her family. She says of joining the AMWA, "it was the best choice I made. It helped me learn new skills and knowledge and here I am earning money for the first time in my life. I feel stronger and useful in several ways." She wants those who have purchased one of her aprons to know that she is genuinely thankful and she made it with love. She hopes it becomes valuable to you. 💝
